For the first one i go for D.
for the 1st one it i between B and D.
In C, "that" is missing at the end of the sentence.
And B is short when compared to D.
Hence IMO (B), so as the OA.

Hi
I think the answers are 1)b and 2)c
in the first question
it comes down between B and D.
B looks crisp and clear.
D brings the extra word 'much'. Much is used for uncountable items and is somewhat unnecessary here.
B is hence a better answer.

For second question
C looks the straight forward answer
In B the error is in the first line
it says
In 1990 there were one thousand woman working in the field of dentistry and Lucy hobbs taylor. Here 'Lucy' and 'woman working in the field of industry' are considered in the same league and hence are seperated by 'And'.This is wrong as they both cannot be compared to each other.
u will never say something like this
I love dogs and apples, are good for health.
You would rather seperate dogs and apples by a method other than 'and'.
Hope things are clear.
open for discussion

regards

Why 1D is wrong?? It seems better.

Three times Ram? looks ambiguous.

I selected 1- D and 2-C .

2-B is wrong because you are making "Lucy" parallel to the ...(blaah) "profession/ industry". Looks weird to me. And also, if you follow the order orf events, Lucy was the "First" woman...blaaah blaah...That lead to a "1000 women in 1990" in the particular profession.

I selected 1- D but now realise that the word "That it had" and "as it had" have different meanings. So B is correct.

Feel free to correct me if i am wrong

how B is superior than D in 1?

There is nothing superior or inferior about the answer choices but its just that the meaning changes slightly between B and D.

(Disclaimer : I am not a pro at SC and i may be wrong, but let me try to expalin you my point of View)

Choice D says "as it had" --> Doesnt "as it had" sounds more like giving reason or explaning why the RAM size was increased ?
Choice C says "That it had" --> Seems to be Comparing the current RAM size to the previous RAM size.

Hope that helps !
Again, Feel free to correct or question me.
