Hello friends!
By the time of application, I will have 4 years of working experience. Now I am with my second employer and I have already spent 2 years here. So by the time of application it will be ~2.5 years. My question is that can my 2 recommenders both from my current employer? They have different seniority and both are very familiar with me. I am sure they will give different perspectives. My previous employer can be my recommender, but since we can't meet regularly, I think they will be harder to communicate with. Thank you!
Hi
jesliwoo,
You can definitely ask two people at the same company. One of the most important factors in choosing recommenders is that they are familiar with your work, your character, strengths, weaknesses and career aspirations. If you have been at your company for 2 years already, these folks likely have a strong familiarity with your work and achievements.
The key, however, will be preparing these recommenders so that they touch on different aspects of your candidacy. The idea is for these letters to complement one another – and the rest of your application. This means you do not want them to repeat exactly what you are already saying, yet at the same time, you want to make sure there is no conflicting information.
