I have had external help of a coaching class where I've completed my course work for verbal and math with non official material.

I have finished my OG10 for quant but not complete for verbal. I've written one mock which was right at the start.. GMATprep test.

currently, I am writting the free tests on GMAT club.. I have few other tests available like the Princeton,800score, and Manhattan from my instructor but I'm not sure which to use and how.

I feel more comfortable with quant than verbal. SC sucks for me especially. With quant my issue is more silly mistakes than in the approach.

How do you think I can plan my study schedule to train myself to write tests and which will be most beneficial in the short time frame I have?

I am writing my first attempt in 2 weeks, 2nd Dec 2018. I would really really appreciate if someone could guide me to a shorter 2 week study plan with the GMAT official questions / exams.

Can you tell how much have you already studied?
What is your background ie if you are comfortable with quant and verbal or not?
What are your weaknesses? DId you give a mock exam yet?
And what resources have you used till now ?

Only then i can tell you further

First , let's talk about silly mistakes. it's gonna sound simple, but it works.
You should first read the question twice. Write down all the info from the question. And leave some space and in the end write what the question is asking you to answer so that you don't forget.

Do your working step by step, like we did in high school (your profile says your indian so step ke marks hai yaad hai?). Do not be in a hurry. I know the GMAT is timed, but I'd rather guess on 2 questions and get them wrong than get more than 2 wrong on silly mistakes.

Also see if your silly mistakes , are genuinely silly. If you did not completely apply a concept, missed to recognise pattern in the question, it means you did not know how to solve it.

I hope you had an error log while doing the questions. Do them again. look at alternative ways to solve a question at the GMATClub forum.

YOu have 2 weeks left. I'd give 4-5 tests spread across 2 weeks (you can give more if you have the stamina) and just spend the whole day reviewing my mistakes, and practicing any new strategy , time, guessing or otherwise. In the time left I'd study SC questions. (OG Only. you can search for them on this website) and try to mark the right answers using meaning. I'd ask you to study the Manhattan SC book or the Aristotle SC book but i dont think you have time. Just going though the OA's should help you out for now.

As for which tests- manhattan tests are tough, espescially the quant and veritas prep's verbal are talked about. I don't know about the rest. Powerscore is a good company. Buy a GMATPrep exam pack from mba.com if you have not. Those are the tests which matter the most.

what was your quant/verbal breakdown in your recent tests? and what is your aim?

Hi Ohbebby,

Thank you for the help. Currently, i am scoring a range in my sectionals 50%-90% verbal and about 75% in quant. I will write a full length soon. My aim is about a 700 but now realistically it feels far fetched.

50 - 90 percent in verbal is a big fluctuation. If you could arrest that I can see you easily score in the 700s. 75% in Quant = 49 , which would leave you needing a 37 in Verbal atleast. I'd say you are better off investing more time in verbal if you are scoring 49 in quant since there is more scope for improvement in verbal. improving over 49 in quant is tough
