Hi Mechmeera,

I have a few questions about how you've been studying and your overall goals:

1) What is your score goal? That goal will play a big role in deciding how you should spend these last few weeks of study.
2) When you took these CATs, did you take the ENTIRE CAT each time (including the Essay and IR sections)?
3) Why can't you push your Test Date back again?

1. My score goal is around 750+
2. I take entire cat at a time. (Previously I took only verbal and math)
3. This is the Re-attempt for me. Previously i scored 590. I have already pushed my test date once from june to july and even there is a fear that I may run out of time for applying to B-Schools. Also it costs 50$ to reschedule again.
Hope you understand my concern. :(

Hi Mechmeera,

From what you describe, it's not clear what the MOST important thing is. I'm going to assume that you want a high GMAT score so that you can comfortably apply to your top-choice School(s). In this way, everything comes down to your GMAT score - and you have to be ready to adapt the other parts of your 'plan' to fit THAT goal.

If you don't have a competitive GMAT score, then the immediate Business School admissions deadlines will NOT matter. You CAN always apply for a later Round though. If you take the GMAT in 20 days (as scheduled) and do not hit your score goals, then you'll have to pay another $250 to take the GMAT again (considerably MORE than the $50 rescheduling fee).

I bring all of this up because (assuming your CAT scores are accurate), your goal is 110+ points away and you have less than 3 weeks until your scheduled Test Date. Thus, it's unlikely that you'll hit your score goal in that time... but it could be that you don't *need* a 750+ score (you just *want* it). There's no harm in continuing on as you've planned - use your resources, continue to study, take a couple of additional CATs and then take the Official GMAT. If you score in the mid-600s to high-600s, what would you choose to do then?

Rich

gave the GMAT on 28 July and got screwed up.
Score:640 V27(Disaster) Q49(OK)

I did not feel the verbal section very difficult moreover I always crossed 30 in almost all practice tests.
Can someone suggest a study plan that can suit me?
I have no intention to join any course now.

Mechmeera -

At this point, you have several practie exams under your belt as well as several live exams - so you know what to expect. I would say that you should go back to your previous practice exams and drill into the results. It is important to look into your incorrect answers and start tracking them. Did you make silly mistakes? If so, are these silly mistakes one-off's or do you regularly make them. Additionally, you will want to start determining your weak areas so that you can focus on those.
