Hey guys, I just checked my ESR for a past exam again. I had scored uncharacteristically low on verbal, with a V40. I usually get V43-47 on my official practice tests (with 2-4 problems wrong).
From viewing my ESR, it seems I got 3-4 problems wrong on verbal for the exam where I scored a V40. Most were in the first quarter of the section. I understand that perhaps I got a couple 'easier' problems wrong, perhaps causing them to give me less difficult problems for the rest of the exam. But still, it is so frustrating to know that I got such a low verbal score (compared to my usual performance) from getting only 3-4 problems wrong. I am tempted to even contact GMAC to ask them to recheck their grading system, but I feel that that would be of no avail.
Attached the verbal excerpt of the ESR for reference.

Unrelated but I did GMATPREP Quant with 5 wrong answers and got q47 because I got first question wrong. It might be your wrong answers are concentrated in first 3 questions. Maybe first 3 questions were RC passage and you didn't understand the passage?
I don’t think contacting GMAC will help. Do you plan to retake the GMAT?
