3 Weeks to Wharton Deadline: Apply Now or Wait 18 Mo. to Start?
The final deadline for Wharton’s EMBA program that will begin this summer 2018 is on February 7, 2018. Unfortunately, Wharton’s EMBA program will not have another deadline until early December 2018, which will be for the program that begins in 2019. So, many late-starters are faced with a dilemma: should they pull an application together rapidly so they can potentially start at Wharton this summer, or should they wait until the December 2018 deadline, which sadly means they cannot start the program until 18 months from now. Indeed, a question we at MBA Admit.com hear often around this time of the admissions year is, “Do you think it is possible to pull the Wharton EMBA application together in two or three weeks?”
The answer is yes, but get moving and, if needed, get guidance to help you determine the ideal essay content and revise your resume, so that you submit an application in tip-top condition. If you are choosing to prepare a Wharton EMBA application with limited time before the deadline, you are not alone. Many candidates start preparing the applications close to the deadline. This is not a matter of lack of organization or lack of will in pursuing the EMBA; rather, it usually reflects how busy EMBA candidates are given the great demands of their work and personal commitments.
Given that the alternative is waiting 18 months to begin at Wharton, many successful candidates push hard to make the February deadline, preparing the application in a couple of weeks. We at MBA Admit.com find that such applicants to Wharton’s EMBA program can be successful if they go into the process of constructing the application with great focus and direction. We have helped candidates prepare successful applications in as little as three days -- but don’t take that as a license to push your luck! Get moving as soon as you can.
In preparing an application with short time-to-deadline, you should make sure to get moving in securing your two recommendations. Also, Wharton prefers that you complete an admissions interview before the deadline, but it does permit applicants to complete the interview after the admissions deadline as well.
We will soon post a blog to help you understand how to prioritize and pace yourself if you are going to prepare an application for Wharton in a very limited amount of time.
