This is what happens if bad Karma follows you... :P

GMAT -1 -2012

In 2012 , I wanted to complete GMAT. I registered a course at Princeton Review. I neither attended classes regularly nor completed the given home work.

I was in thirst of GMAT and I wanted to just make in attempt. Before my exam I reviewed basics and took a GMAT Prep Test - I scored around 450.

On the GMAT day I got - 330

It didn't bother me much.

GMAT -2 -2013

In 2013, I made up my mind to do hell lot of practice and give GMAT. I started practicing and taking mock tests.

This time I studied for about 40 hours over a period of 2 months and gave mock tests in July.

2-Jul-13 - Princeton Review - 540
6-Jul-13 - MGMAT - 530
11-Jul-13 - Kaplan - 550

I had my exam scheduled for end of July but by seeing such low scores I pushed my exam to August and then to September.

Jul to Sep: I didn't study much because of many reasons.I purchased e-gmat, didn't utilize it.

Finally I decided to attend exam in September.

GMAT -2 - 480  :x

GMAT -3 -2014

From September-2013 to Decemeber-2013 I didn't think about GMAT but early January I decided and scheduled exam in mid Feb. After seeing my mock results I pushed my exam to April -2014.

25-Jan MGMAT MGMAT CAT-1 Q44 V30 600
29-Jan GMAT Prep-1 Q44 (63) V28 (48) 600
09-Feb MGMAT MGMAT CAT-2 Q41 V30 580
14-Feb 800Score 800Score -2 Q38 V25 540
07-Mar MGMAT MGMAT Test-3 Q45 V28 600
16-Mar Veritas Veritas-1 Q48 V30 640
21-Mar 800Score 800Score -3 Q41 V31 600
27-Mar MGMAT MGMAT Test-4 Q40 V28 560
05-Apr Kaplan Kaplan 1 Q 47 V21 560

After 5-Apr-2013 - I took GMAT Club tests , I scored around 38 -43 in quants and 26-32 in verbal.

This time I didn't want to push my exam but to attempt and to score 600 - 620.

GMAT - 3 - 560 Q 40 V 27  :? :x

Timing was biggest problem. In quants I had only 17 minutes for 17 questions, this would have pushed my score down.

Materials Used:

MGMAT - Guides
Powerscore CR Bible
GMAT guide 11 and 12
GMAT club tests

What not to do

I don't think I have to tell in detail what no to do.. by reading above post you should be able make out.

Total Money spent on GMAT till date is around $2000

GMAT -4 - 2014

Coming Soon :!: :!:

After all these stints I increased my target to 750. I have decided to work my ass off to get the desired score and not to book exam until I score 750 in my GMAT practice tests.

I'll be using MGMAT books, GMAT club tests, OG thoroughly.

Dear ephantom009,
If you don't mind, I'm make a few suggestions. :-)

First of all, here's a free idiom ebook:
and if you prefer, you can access this same material in the form of a flashcard app:
We also have free math flashcards, if you are interested:

Here's a thorough three-month study schedule for someone in your position: ... l-focused/

I would recommend getting the additional question packs that you can buy for GMAT Prep, so you can keep practicing with that, but with fresh questions. I would recommend getting the GMAT Quantitative Review and the GMAT Verbal Review, two books with new questions, so again, you can practice with fresh questions.

I believe that Magoosh is one high quality source you are overlooking, and I think it can give you the edge you seek. Here's a practice SC question:
Here's a practice CR question:
Here's a practice math question:
For each of those questions, when you submit your answer, the following page will have a full video explanation. Each one of Magoosh's 800+ GMAT practice questions has its own video explanation, for accelerated learning. The individualized VEs for each question complement and reinforce what you learn in the 150+ video lessons for a deeply integrated educational experience.

Even if you decide not to go with Magoosh, I genuinely hope you derive all the benefit you can from that free blog.

Mike :-)
