Hi Manali,

Please try to find out why you are getting the questions wrong:
1) For example, If there are too many silly mistakes or calculation mistakes in quants, you know you can improve with more practice and just by being careful.
2) If you are lacking concepts in certain topics, please study them again and try sectional tests.
3) Try to maintain an Error log so that you can spot the topics and types of questions that you need to focus on.

For Verbal, you can try to read high quality articles and editorials - That can be really helpful to improve your RC skills.

Also be aware that getting an 'easy' question wrong will cost you dearly than getting a 'tough' question wrong. So one must focus on getting a clear understanding on the basic concepts.

Hi,

It is easier to obtain more points on quant, so focus on quant concepts. If you focus more on concepts and attempt easy questions from OG, you must see an improvement in your score. Don't attempt hard and medium questions now. What materials are you going through for concepts?

Did you set any goals after your CAT?

Good Luck!

Hi Manali29,

Many GMATers face pacing issues in the Quant section, the Verbal section or both – so you are not alone. However, it's important to remember that pacing problems do NOT exist on their own - they're the results of OTHER problems. Since most GMAT questions are written so that they can be approached in more than one way, the pacing issues that you have described imply that "your way" of approaching many of the questions that you see on your CATs/mocks is the "long way." While you do not need to be a 'fast' worker or reader, you do have work efficiently to earn the type of high Score that you're interested in. Thankfully, the GMAT is a consistent, predictable Exam, so you CAN train to score at a higher level.

Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

1) What type of study routine have you been following over the last 3 months? Have you been studying a consistent number of hours each week?
2) Have you used any other study materials besides the Official Guide?
3) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

Hi Rich,
thankyou for your kind reply

For quant I began with Manhattan guides and jamboree tutorials plus book1, once I understood the concepts I switched to OG chapter wise questions.
For Verbal SC- I did Egmat videos and few jamboree tutorials
CR- Manhattan prep guides and RC I skimmed through the OG qsts

I have given atleast 2hrs on most weekdays.
I am planning to apply in Indian B-schools with IIMs in the priority list.

Hi, point taken sir
After thorough review I have decided I am going to start taking sectional tests with easy questions first so that I can build up some accuracy

For improving my reading efficiency I have started reading few books but can you please name some editorials??
