Hi all.
Took the exam for the 3rd time in a 2.5 month window and finally crossed the 700 mark. Here is the frustrating and strenuous progression:
Sept 10, 2005 - 650
Oct 24, 2005 - 590 (yes! my score went down and i was ready to kill myself!!)
Nov 23, 2005 - 720
After all this, I have realized that at least for me the test is 80% mind-set. Having the right mind-set is the key. First exam, i prepared for 2 weeks but I had just the right mind-set and scored 650, which was atleast a 100 points higher than the 2 practise tests that i took. Second exam i was a bit too relaxed--not good!! Third exam, I went over the basics..learned tricks of calculation and i have to accept that my participation and regular reading of explanations of problems made by others on this site really helped me. I had a killer mind-set too. I was scheduled to go on an island vacation that same day and i knew that i had to do well on the exam to enjoy my vacation.
Well, i got lost trying to get to the testing center but i think the adrenaline helped me in exam. What really sucked is that I was 10 min late for the exam and the guy at the test center gave me lot of sh*t for it. Worst of all he didn't let me take any of the breaks--I'm not sure if that's legal. Taking an exam for 4hrs without breaks sucked!!..all the candy and vitamin water went to waste. Anyways, now I can't help but wonder that maybe i would have scored a few points higher if i had those breaks...
Now, I am back from my vacation with a tan and have to get cracking on my essays. I want to thank everyone for their posts and good luck to all that are about to take the exam. This website is a great idea!!
cheers!
