So I took the Gmat in December and got a 620 (42Q, 35V) - I decided to study and take again in Feb but had a 102 fever because I was nervous it wouldn't make it into my apps and got a 600 (33V and 39Q).

SO today i retook it - I didn't study because I didn't have time and got a 640 - My verbal seemed super easy this time and went up to a 42 (95th%) but my Quant went down to a 35!!! I could only get up to like #20 and then had to guess- I was really lagging!

I was waitlisted to NYU on monday and I suppose I should tell them abuot my new score but I am pissed my Quant went down!!

I don't want to take this test again- I do have a pretty signigicant reading disability which makes these test extra hard for me (I don't have dyslexia but I have trouble interpreting symbolic info so math and reading are a bit challenging!)

Hopefully something comes through! I just wanted to thank everyone on this board who has helped answer my questions!

Best wishes for NYU. I visited campus and met adcoms there. It's good to be part of NYU

your score is fine, however, it looks like u have a potential to score high but ur strategy kinda sucked (takin test while u were sick etc). but i think it does not matter, u can prolly get in even with thet score

Thanks Spiridon (I am a fellow Greek)

I was nervous if I didn't take it that day I couldn't include it in my RD2 app package so I took it sick - stupid move but I thought maybe i'd luck out!

Oh well! At least it went up this time....

Good luck with NYU..I am aiming for PT there next fall/spring. When I went to an info session, I think they stated that 80% of those accepted were in the range of 610-730.

So I think you are safely in that zone...I would not be dis-couraged by waitlist, many people are applying this year to hedge their lives next year...I am sure there will be some who feel secure in their jobs and bail.
