Hey guys this is my first post. Yesterday I decided I was going to start this adventure to taking the GMAT. I allotted 4 months to study and prepare as best I can. I didnt get spectacular grades in undergrad and they still haunt me everytime I think of applying to grad school. Yesterday I went out and got the Kaplan book, official GMAT guide and today I got a service from 20minGMAT that emails me questions everyday for the math and verbal. I must admit I have never been very self motivated when it's come to school but things are changing. I have decided to do this all on my own and I am going all in with this. I have noticed if you want to get a good grade on this test you have to put everything you have into it. I am going to set aside a lot of time tomorrow to take some full length tests to see what my lowest score will be. Truth be told, I am aimng for a 700 or higher. I understand that's 90th percentile and higher but I am going to try my best

Hi

I believe you have ample amount of time. I too am going to appear for GMAT 2 months from now.

According to me what you should do is:

1. Spend some time reading about experiences of different people pertaining to the Exam - will give you a good idea and a lot of motivation.
2. Take a free GMAT CAT - from Manhattan or any other website to get a slight idea of what questions are like and where you stand.
3. Then start brushing up on your BASICS with the books and make sure you're thorough with them - GMAT tests your basics in different ways and its important to spend some time on them.
4. Do not neglect verbal under any circumstance.

Good luck! Don't forget the GMAT Prep software from mba.com ---realistic GMAT questions from the creators in software format.

And of course, don't underestimate the psychological and time component of the test like most people do:
