I have just given my 4th attempt today and am totally dumbfounded. The first attempt was not a serious one has i had hardly done any prep. 2nd one was with good prep and i was happy to certain extent with my score. 3rd attempt, given this may. I was probably over confident. And now with the 4th attempt, i am confused. Gave it everything i got. Was scoring 760 in gmat prep just few days back. I had expected my actual score to be in the 690 - 700 range as i gave the gmat prep 3-4 times spanning over few months. But Cant understand such a huge difference in score. My break up was V 44 Q 23 For my 4th attempt, am disappointed with both quant and verbal scores. prior to my actual test, was scoring comfortably 48-49 in quant and 35-37 in verbal and in my second and third attempts, i had got 31 in verbal..Although i had used kaplan 800 and the mgmat tests for earlier attempts, i used only og , additional questions from the question pack available at mba website for my 4th attempt .. im now confused whether to stick with 620 or take a break and give it another go? If the latter, kindly suggest steps to push my score above 700.

well , this is a diffuclt question to answer.
basically we have to take in account 2 things: on one side, many students report that even if they take a good cat (MGAMT KAPLAN) then during the exam there is a consistent difference with the real score. I guess because the concept are the same but the practice material, even the best is DIFFERENT, why ? I do not know. Considering also other elements: time pressure, nervosism and a bunch of variables.
On the other hand if you take too much exam MBA programs interpret this as a poor ability to process information quickly. Sincerely speaking I think that 4 times is a border line to take the GMAT. Moreover, is important to have a good balance between verbal and quant score, albeit is more important the verbal part.
