Hi everybody,
it's the first time I write in gmat club forum. I'm not a native speaker.(Native language : french). I want to share my experience and I need help to analyze my scores.
I passed the GMAT the 11/08/11 and I scored 500. I'm not happy with this score and I want to retake it. My goal is 700.
I think my mistakes I made were :
- During the week before exam I go to sleep minimum at 2:00am thus the day before exam I slept only 4 hours ( I need 7 hours to be operationnal) : the test was at 9:30am and even if I go to sleep at 11:30 pm, it was impossible for me to sleep before 2:00am.
- I planned the exam in the morning (My best scores I did was in the afternoon)
My last scores at home was (in a period of 1 month approximately with AWA) :

Now, before to follow a knewton courses or to begin a new study plan. I need analysis of my score at home Vs real score. I know I'm not regular. Do I need to follow a courses?
Don't hesitate to give me your analysis.
How could I improve my score in Verbal?
I need a realistic plan in the next 3 month. My goal is 700.

For verbal, did you do the OG Verbal and the OG 12? After going through 100-200 of CR and RC questions, you will figure out what they are asking for.

I didn't use OG Verbal.
I used :
- OG 12 (I made all verbal exercises and 70% Quant exercises)
- Kaplan Premier (especially I focused on strategy)
- Kaplan GMAT Advanced 2009-2010 (I did 50% of the exercise, I spent too much time to solve difficult CR questions approx. 4 min)
- The PowerScore GMAT Critical Reasoning Bible (100 % of the content)
- Manhattan GMAT SC (I read 100% of the content)
- Manhattan GMAT RC (I read 50% of the content)
- Manhattan GMAT CR (I read 50% of the content)
I feel I am not regular in my strategies and I'm not at ease in verbal, especially when I pass the first 12 questions, it become harder and I know with 700-800 questions I have to spend more time.
As I'm not a native speaker, sometimes I try to translate difficult sentences and I double the time of understanding. As the verbal is in the end of exam, sometimes I loose my attention in the test.
What kind of study plan do you recommend me ?
Background :
Telecom Engineer 7 years
Management : 3 years
I speak only french in my work
