Ciao everyone! I am Luigi from Italy, and I recently scored a 645 (Q83, V82, DI80) on the GMAT Focus Edition. This score represents a significant improvement from my initial diagnostic score of 535 (Q79, V79, DI71), and I achieved this in just four months of dedicated preparation with e-GMAT. I am delighted to share my journey with you all.
Improvement from First Mock to Last Mock
Background As someone with a strong engineering background, I had solid quantitative skills but found the verbal section particularly challenging. My dream is to join a top business school, such as Bocconi University, and pursue a career in finance as an investment banker.
Initial Struggles and Finding e-GMAT I started my GMAT preparation on my own, but after two months, my scores showed no improvement. Frustrated, I began searching for alternative study resources and stumbled upon e-GMAT. After attending a couple of their webinars by its founder Rajat, I was convinced that their structured approach was exactly what I needed.
The e-GMAT Experience Subscribing to e-GMAT was the best decision I made in my GMAT journey. The course provided me with all the tools required to achieve my goals. Here are the key aspects that made e-GMAT exceptional:
Structured Approach: The e-GMAT platform is incredibly well-organized. The structured approach to both the Quant, Verbal, and DI sections made it easier for me to understand and tackle the questions efficiently. Their 3 stages of learning proved effective for me. They made me go through the course modules first, followed by the Cementing stage where I was made to solve a few pre-designed quizzes to cement my abilities in that section. It not only improved my abilities but also my time management skills. And then finally, we jumped to the Test Readiness stage where they helped me build my stamina before the mocks stage.
Quant Courses & PACE AI: The Quant course was an eye-opener for me. I thought I was strong in my Quant skills. However, I decided to go through the comprehensive courses of Quant as they really helped me improve my knowledge. The adaptive PACE AI system in Quant saved me almost 20% of my time (25 hours approximately) by letting me focus on my weak areas, allowing me to concentrate on improving my performance where it was most needed.
Mentor Support: My mentor, Akash, was instrumental in my success. He provided timely support, kept my motivation high, and offered valuable personalized insights throughout my preparation.
Quality of Questions and Explanations: The quality of practice questions and detailed explanations by the SMEs helped me build a solid understanding of the concepts and strategies required to excel in the GMAT.
Verbal Improvement Before joining the e-GMAT, my verbal scores were consistently below average. The verbal section of e-GMAT, with its clear strategies and comprehensive explanations, was fundamental in helping me understand how to approach and answer verbal questions correctly. Learning Pre-Thinking in CR was a game-changer for me. It enabled me to save time and improve accuracy significantly. At first, it may seem like a time-consuming procedure but with more practice, I got to understand the importance of it in hard-level questions. Pre-Thinking helped me improve my Verbal score from the 51st percentile to almost 80th percentile.

Data Insights Section Improving in the Data Insights (DI) section was crucial for me. The combination of Verbal and Quant skills required for DI was well-addressed by e-GMAT’s courses. By mastering the verbal and quant sections first, followed by the newly designed courses of Data Insights sections, I could handle DI questions more efficiently, leading to a substantial improvement in my DI score from 71 to 80 (28th percentile to 86th percentile).
Mock Tests and Error Logs Taking regular mock tests was a crucial part of my strategy. My last mock test score on a SIGma-X mock was 635, close to my final score. Analyzing my mistakes using an error log helped me identify recurring errors and focus on those areas. This continuous review process was key to my improvement.
Final Thoughts Looking back, I wish I had discovered e-GMAT earlier in my preparation. The time spent on the e-GMAT platform was incredibly productive, far more than studying on my own. The journey was challenging but rewarding, and I am thrilled with my progress.
