For direct admission at a college here in Italy, is required to have a 550+ GMAT score or, for GRE a 145 score in both verbal and quant section.
Hello. Here is a third option: take the test at Italian university that offers the test.

Hi giacomodm.

Both of those scores are relatively easy to achieve. In fact, you may already be sufficiently prepared to achieve either of them.

So, your best move may be to prepare some for each test, possibly for 10 to 15 hours for each test, to familiarize yourself with the test and the types of questions that appear on it, and then take an official practice test of each type.

Your scores on those practice tests will indicate where you stand with regard to each test, and by taking the tests, you'll get a sense of which score goal you'll more easily achieve.

I'll surely take the italian test as well, but as the university gives the chance to be admitted directly with a certain GRE/GMAT score, I want to be sure to be admitted and I'll try to get that score.

Do you think I can rely on percentiles? If yes, GRE score (145) should be easier to achieve, aside from the test structure and personal inclinations.

Hey carcass! Thank you for your answer.
I didn't know about the cross-posting rule. I'm sorry for that.

Hi giacomodm,

Have you considered taking both a practice GMAT and a practice GRE to see which test suits you better?

Hi giacomodm,

To start, we need to clarify a detail here: would earning one of those 'required scores' mean that you would automatically be invited to attend that Program OR do the Scores represent the minimum results needed to apply (meaning that you might actually need to score higher to lock-up an invitation?)?

From a percentile-standpoint, you would likely find it easier to earn the GRE Score (as those Quant and Verbal results are both well-below the 50th percentile, while a 550 on the GMAT is near the 50th percentile).

1) Have you put in any notable study time for either Exam yet?
2) What application deadline(s) are you facing for this Program?
