Practice test score was around 630-700 (V22-v35). Last GMATPrep score before test day was 690. Official test betrayed me. I have gone thru almost all the verbal books suggested including MGMAT SC, Power CR. I am loosing confidence.

Hi nfs, welcome to gmat club.
Its sad to know your verbal debacle. Its amazing too that you came all the way from 35 to 17. Anyhow, I think you should retake the gmat with a new strategy. Check this thread

For verbal, practice & pattern recognition is the key. Have you identified your weak areas in verbal? Do so if you havn't. There can be a possibility that you are good at SC but not good at CR or RC. So identify your problematic areas & work on those. Let us know if we can be of any help.
