My first post 
I recently took my GMAT exam and scored a 580 (Q35 V35) without studying. Well actually went over the basic math equations the day before.
Originally I wanted to study a month for it but after my CFA exam (which thankfully I passed
) I just wanted a break. So instead of wasting my $250 I thought I would take the exam and see what I end up getting.
Yea not sure what happened with the Quant section. Def something to work on. I'm essentially a calculator Guru after my CFA exam.
Anyways, my question to you is if this is a good starting score especially if you take into consideration that I did not study.
Also, what is a good Study time frame if I am aiming for 700+?

Without any studying, that is an OK base score to work off of to get a 700+. You've passed CFA exam so at quant wise you should be able to bring this up a lot. Of course, getting over 700 will be a challenge for anyone and that's going to require some extra smart studying. There is no calculator for the GMAT exam, except an onscreen one for the integrated reasoning section.
A good study time frame to scoring 700 would be 1-2 months of dedicated studying. This would be an optimal time and as always, studying never gets done until a time is running out. So about 1-2 months is the optimal - any longer and your attention span for studying will dissipate. Your scores look pretty much even on verbal/quant, arguably quant should be able to rise more, but verbal has a few spots you can raise to 100% accuracy. Try to figure out what those sections are, improve on those sections. And also solidify the ones you are good at. The goal for 700+ is not 90% accuracy, it's going to be 95%+ accuracy. So try to get everything correct!
