Hi fellow gmat club members,

I attempted the GMAT yesterday and got a dissappointed score of 590 (Q 44 and V 27)
I am realy very disappointed..

Just want to know is there any way to increase the verbal.... I am particulary facing trouble with RC...

Suggestion are most welocme...

anyone who have increase his/her score from a low 590 to high 700.... Please advice me..

Realy in need of it

I'm new kid on the block here so no preaching friend! But will certainly recommend you to take this with a grain of salt if you are willing to improve.

We all come from same genome which has one thing in common; Don't get hurt Dont learn!

No question you are among some of the best of the breed here and so every piece of word from these guys matter not just from the elusive 700 clubbers...!

Lets create our own story...

Can someone plzzzzz help me, how to improve RC...I think its the only hurdle that I face in GMAT verbal section..

Hi Gurpreet,

Sorry to hear you're disappointed with your score. However, it's not impossible to improve to a 700 from your score, so don't lose hope. You may want to read through this thread for some ideas on how to improve: my-gmat-journey-from-490-to-700-q49-v36-62535.html

I don't know of any one good way to improve RC other than to read lots of newspapers or other written media. Examples people generally recommend are: NY Times, Wall street journal, and I also recommend sites like CNN.com. Reading daily will improve your overall verbal, and it will certainly help your RC.

Also, you should visit the RC forum (gmat-reading-comprehension-rc-137/), as there is a sticky thread there with more recommendations for RC. Good luck!

Thanks shadowsjc. I think i'll give myself rest for two days and again gear up for this beast...
but sometimes i wonder whether i would ever make to 700...

Yes I am going to improve any how, and this time it would be last and final...
i have already made a big leap from 470 to 590 and the last and final time it would be 700

I think since your lower score was in Verbal section, you need to concentrate on it more rather than math.
I highly recommend to get MGMAT books, all 8 of them.
They have really helpful hints on how to imrpove your score, and they go over every topic in Math in Details.
RC, and CR is not much helpful though...
If you go through them and do their tests.
Chances are high you will get your desired 700...
