I'm getting an answer of 720.

heres how I did it - the 1st time I've 6 ways, the 2nd 5 ways.....the 6th 1 way. So I did 6*5*4*3*2 = 720 - Is this the right way to do this problem?

lovely
sure you have the question right?

Lovely - do you think there is a problem with the question? I picked it up from a website.

well, seems like the choices are wrong... i thought the solution would be 720 also, but it is way off from the choices...

would think it should be 6!

I also get 720.

if you pick one ball, you have 5 other possibilities for the second, 4 for the third, 3 for the fourth, 2 for the fifth and 1 for the sixth. This makes an total of 120.

But the first ball has also an combination of 6 choices. Therefore the answer should be: 6*5*4*3*2*1 = 720

Regards,

Alex

This question is poorly worded and even wrong. What is the point of picking 6 numbers without replacement if order does not matter? This means that no matter the order in which you are pulling out the balls, you will always get ONE possibility since it is THE SAME 6 NUMBERS that you are pulling out every time. Answer to your question should be 6C6 = 1.
