If you are considering applying to MIT but are concerned you have waited too long, you will be happy to know that many candidates can still have a good shot at the MIT EMBA program that will begin in September 2021.
Given how busy executives remain with their demanding careers and family responsibilities, candidates often delay their application work until the deadlines begin to loom. This is particularly true for those with their sights on MIT, because the MIT EMBA application is one of the most rigorous and challenging of all the US EMBA applications! The good news: it is still possible for many candidates to mobilize a strong application for the MIT EMBA program.
What are some steps that can help you submit soon? To start, recognize that MIT does not require a standardized test score. This is a huge advantage, because you do not need to devote time trying to score well on the Executive Assessment, GMAT, or GRE exam. So, you should delve into preparing your essays, resume, and application form soon.
Resume. Remember, an outstanding application resume is somewhat different than a job resume, so be certain to revise your resume optimally.
Essays (very important for MIT!). For MIT, you need to devote dedicated time to crafting essays with outstanding and compelling content. MIT’s four required essays are intended to weed out candidates who do not have the right quality and depth of experience (MIT prefers a more seasoned/experienced candidate). So, you want to showcase the great quality of your work experience through the topics you introduce in your essays.
Recommendations. Finally, approach your recommendation writers as soon as possible so they can begin working on the recommendations. Many schools allow you to turn in your recommendations up to a couple of weeks after you submit your essays and application form, but your application will not be reviewed until the recommendations are in.
Importantly, MIT has indicated over the years that it often receives 40% of all its applications in the last couple of weeks before the final deadline, and they usually still have seats available to allocate. So, if you would like to start at MIT in September 2021, lay out a plan of action and you should still have time to prepare and submit your application before MIT’s final deadline!
