Hi Guys,
I'm down to the wire with applications, and I suppose that may be a factor in my recent poor performance. I took the GMAT a year ago. I self-studied using Kaplan and my practice scores were:
640 - 43Q, 37V
620 - 42Q, 34V
660 - 40Q, 40V
GMAT Prep: 670 - 44Q, 38V
Actual GMAT: 640 - 36Q, 41V.My massive drop in quant score surprised me. I decided to take
Manhattan GMAT online classes and my quant scores seemed to improve through each practice:
660: 40Q, 40V
670: 44Q, 37V
700: 44Q, 41V
690: 44Q, 40V
GMAT PREP 44Q, 41V
Actual GMAT: 600 35Q, 38VNot only did I score lower than my practices, I did worse than last year. I thought maybe since I took the test with the flu and the addition of IR might be wiping me out. But still, I don't get 35Q any time I practice. I do get extremely nervous when I'm doing the real thing as I've always had math anxiety, but this is ridiculous.
I just took anther GMATPrep and I got a
710: 46Q, 41V. Don't remember seeing any of these questions, so I think the score may be legit. This decent score actually makes me even more frustrated about my recent poor performance.
Does anyone have any advice, input, experience as to why I bomb so hard on the actual exam? I've practiced with 3 different companies, including GMAT's own prep software and I don't get anywhere near a 600. What if I breeze through the IR section so that I conserve my energy for the Quant? Any help would be appreciated.
