Hi,
I took the GMAT last week after several weeks of studying and got a score of 610 (39Q, 35V). I know there is much to work on in order to improve both of these scores, and I know most of the issues I need to work on in the Quant section. As for verbal, I felt as if I was doing really well during the exam. Having about 12 questions left with 25 min remaining, I knew I was averaging good time and felt like I was getting a majority of questions correct, but then my bladder decided to interfere and I was having some issues on that latter part of the verbal section paying attention while not wetting myself. As humorous as the story is, I really feel as if those last 12 questions were detrimental to my score being so low in Verbal, so it was upsetting to not do as well as I imagined. However, I really want to shoot for a 700 and would like to get this score by the end of November 2011 in order to make the application deadlines for some of the schools I am looking at. Any advice for someone willing to go the extra mile and put in the extra time to get this desired score? Thanks.

It looks like you have some room to improve quant as well. For that, I would look no further than the gmatclub math tests. You probably have the basics down pretty well, so these would be great to take to get accustomed to very difficult problems.
As for verbal, the one area you can probably most easily improve is sentence correction. Create flashcards and drill the grammar rules and idioms until you have them down cold. Then do as many practice problems as humanly possible. If you have 6 weeks, then you can look at the Powerscore CR Bible pretty thoroughly and do as many CR practice problems as possible too after that. Then for RC, I would go through 1-2 practice passages a day, as well as read 1-2 articles from The Economist or WSJ. Improvement on verbal I think will just take a lot of practice and effort.

Thanks IJR. I am definitely planning on working to improve the Quant score as well, but I have actually used most of the GMAT Club math tests already. Do you have any advice as to some equally beneficial practice problems for this?
As for Verbal, I think the RC and CR had been the toughest part for me, and that has been mostly staying focused through out the 75 minutes. Though I feel most comfortable with sentence correction, I still plan on practicing/improving in all facets. In your opinion, where are the best practice problems for the GMAT? I have used the Official Guide, MGMAT and Kaplan so far, as well as the smaller exams from GMAT Club. Thanks again for your help.
