Kaplan 2009 Premier Program

Prep2 - 640 (Q49 V28)
Prep3 - 620 (Q47 V28)
Real GMAT - 610 (Q48 V26) AWA 5.0, end of June 2009.
After the test, I bought and studied...

Yesterday (Aug 01, 2009) I got
GMAT Prep 4 - 640 (Q49 V28)

The above is my study summary.
I planned to take the GMAT test next week (Aug 08, 2009), but I rescheduled it to December. I knew that I can't get more than 700.
I heard that if the applicant takes the test more than 3 times, it will look bad on the GMAT Adcom.
SC improved alot, I get like 3-4 wrong now, before it was like 7-8. But, CR and RC are still killing me.
Since I am going out of country for personal reason, I can't keep studying GMAT in August (for one month)
AFter I come back, I need to study harder to get 700+ in December.
My questions are...
Do I need to buy Powerscore CR/Powerscore Verbal?
Do I need to buy new OG 12, and new OG verbal Review?
Do i need to buy Princeton 1012 GMAT?
Is GMAT Fiction books better than doing RC 1000?
How's the Manhattan Review Turbo Charge your GMAT: Verbal study guide and Verbal Solutions guide?
Sigh,please give me any advice.

Hi taekyuchoi,
Your quant looks great so props to you on that! As for verbal here's what I would do ...
1) I wouldn't buy more study materials. I think you have more than enough to help you increase your verbal score.
2) You need to really understand how an argument is constructed for the CR questions. I am a reformed lawyer so the CR section is easy for me. You need to understand how the GMAT puts together these arguments, i.e. premises and conclusion. If you want to really improve CR I would write out the premises in some shorthand form and the conclusion. Then, depending on the question type (e.g., weaken, strengthen), try to anticipate the answer then look at the answer choices. You'll get faster at this and then you won't need to write out everything.
3) For RC, I don't follow any kind of strategy. I'm fast on the other types of questions so I take my time with the RC passages. I don't like the tricks that Kaplan or MGMAT employ for RC. Those tricks may work for some but not for me.
I hope this helps. I am weak (but getting stronger) in quant and strong in verbal.
If you're like me you work on the stuff you're good at and put off the other. Don't do this! Address your weaknesses and you'll improve. I have done this over the last two months with quant and I have been scoring 45-47 on GMATPrep. This is a huge jump for me! I'm trying to get to the 47-49 range before my test in two weeks.
You can do it! Hang in there. You're closer than you think.
