Hi all,
I gave my 2nd attempt at the GFE and scored a 615 (Q77, V84, DI80). Below are the breakdowns with some notes/thoughts
Quant: I realized that Quant is the most punishing, but didn't realize that 2 wrong in the first 3 would drag the overall section down by so much. The next 13 or so questions felt incredibly easy, which was probably a sign that I got the first couple wrong during the exam.
Verbal: Strongest section including mocks, first few questions were definitely hard as I got the second question wrong but ended up being able to get in a groove.
DI: Surprised that 8 wrong was still an 80. For some reason felt it was the hardest and didn't feel fully confident with 1/3 of my answers, (especially with the non math related DS questions) so was surprised I was even able to get an 80, though there definitely is room to grow.
For people that were scoring in the 615 range and was able to push it to 685+, what were your strategies in studying and improving sections? (Especially Quant)
Previously, I was using TTP (completed all of the Quant sections, completed most of the Verbal, and did maybe 1/3 of the DI), which helped with Quant strategies, but the practice questions felt quite different from the OG questions and the actual exam. Prior to the exam, I was mostly working through OG questions and Mock tests and some GMAT club questions.
My first attempt in April I scored a 565, so a 50 point bump was definitely good to see, but am looking for another 60-70 point bump in the next couple of months.
Happy to hear any success stories or strategies for people in a similar boat. thanks!
