Hello All,
I took the GMAT today for the first time, Q47 V28 T620 (76th percentile), disappointed.
I took both breaks, after my quant section I raised my hand and the proctor came and locked my computer. I came back in 5 minutes because I was worried I would use more than 10 mins. Imagine my utter disappointment when the proctor unlocked the computer it again asked me if I want to take the break, and when I said no it took me to the Verbal section but the clock was showing 00:68:00.
Anyway, I am planning to take a retake but I wanted all of you to be aware of this scenario. After the AWA and the quant, when you are going for the break,
make sure the proctor clicks on the correct icon and a pop up window actually shows the time remaining for the break.
Test Observations:
AWA - Extremely easy topics, no sweat.
Quant - As everyone has been saying, "many" number theories where plug in is all you can do. So it is necessary to maintain a cool head. The problem is Time Management in today's Quant section. An increasing number of number theory problems makes it difficult to properly manage your time across the section. I had to rush through the last 4 questions.
Verbal - I was weak in verbal to start with and after I saw the clock at 00:68:00, I was half dead
Verbal is almost on the same lines of OG except SC. I did find some SC's that were testing known concepts of parallel objects, apples and oranges etc. but the majority appeared confusing as I was not sure which concepts these were testing. RC was similar to OG, I am good on CR and didn't find it difficult. I could not answer the last 5 questions and that explains the pathetic verbal score for me.
Regards,
Pranay.
