Hi,

I have a previous score from Jan 2020 - 540; Q36, V27.
I am planning to apply with the recent score of 620 and I am targeting a full-time MBA in Canada.
Education Background:
Class 10 (2012) - 93.5%
Class 12 (2014) - 79.2%
University degree (2018) - CGPA 7.02
[B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering]
Working Experience:
Internship as a Project Manager for iOS and android application development team at Wegile Pvt Ltd.
Duration: 6 months (last semester of degree)
Full-time employment at Virtual Employee Pvt. Ltd.
Role: Project coordinator and head of Process Excellence
Duration: Full Time (3 years +) (July 2018 - Present)
Kindly review my profile. Can I get into McGill, UBC, or Schulich...with my current scores? I am not planning to reappear for the test. Any other B schools that I should target in Canada?
Please ask any questions that would help to evaluate better.
Thanks a lot!
Hi
Smile38 , congratulations on the drastic improvement on your GMAT score. You have decent academic records and an interesting work profile. You could certainly apply to low-ranked B Schools with a 620 if your sole purpose is to get yourself into Canada this year. However, given how promising and tech-focused your profile is, another shot at improving your GMAT closer to a 680 score could be the difference between attending a Tier 1 program vs a Tier 2 program. The same difference would apply to post MBA opportunities or perhaps lifelong opportunities. As you are a young applicant, no amount of ECs or leadership stories IMO would balance your current GMAT score if you are looking to graduate from a pedigreed institute.
Therefore my honest advise to you is to take a well informed decision.
If you wish to discuss your strategy further feel free to reach out.
Best wishes
