Hello.. I gave gmat today n got a dismal 620 :'( ... In none of the practice test hav i scored this lower... Always got 650+ in all mock tests.
I have a total work exp. of 6.8 yrs( about to be 7 in august) in IT industry with 4 yrs of experience at the client side. Had a decent cgpa in college 8.04/10.
What should be my next steps. Should i re-appear for gmat? If yes, can someone guide me as to what my study strategy should be like?
Also, are there any good colleges i can apply and have fair chances to get through.
Really disappointed and any guidance would be helpful.

Unfortunately, you're competing among a demographic that is really competitive - Indian male IT with 7 years of experience. Unless your GMAT score of 620 was heavily weighted toward a high verbal score and a low quant score, I'd recommend retaking or adjusting your goals/expectations for business school. Bschools have a lot of candidates to choose from with a similar job experience. Where have you been considering for bschool? If US, consider places outside of US as possibilities. Europe has some good schools as does Australia. You'll need to do a lot more research - I won't be able to provide a full complete answer in a short post like this. But this is how I would start thinking about solving the problem.

Thanks for d reply... I am an indian female... I was looking at the top 20 colleges .. Both US and outside.
As you suggest i will target re takkng gmat... N get a 700+score to bump up d prospects.
This time wen i studies i refered to og13 and the quant and verbal review books by GMAC.
While i was giving the actual gmat exam also, i felt much in control and felt dat my answers were correct.. But alas, the report proved me wrong.
Can you please help guide me on how i should re do my study plan and what should i focus.
I was studying for 3-4 hrs 5 days a week for almost a month and then gave gmat.
Should i get the manhattan 10 book series to kick start my prep again. M confused..
