Hey ykaiim, 620 is definitely not your score. I always liked your analysis in CRs and am quite surprised with the verbal score. You should take few days off and then go for it.

I think it was just a bad day for you as far as Verbal went.

First off, take a few days off. Like completely away from GMAT. Don't look at books or do any problems. Clean your mind a bit. And then make a fresh plan and start studying.

I really don't think you need anything major for Quant. Just do the OG problems again a bit and you should be all set. As for Verbal, do the MGMAT SC completely, maybe twice even and then the PowerScore CR and the OG. :)

Good luck!

The biggest problem for non native is passive reading, that might have cost you.

What do you mean by passive reading?

Hi all,

I gave my GMAT today and shocked by the score 620 (Q49, V26).

I didnt expect this :( as I really performed well in my preparation. I refered:
Quant - GmatClub, Kaplan, OG12
Verbal - OG10, OG12, Kaplan, Manhattan SC, Powerscore CR Boble

GMATPrep1 - 620 (Q 48, V27) - April 4th 2010
MGMAT1 - 660 (Q45, V36) - April 20th, 2010
GMATPrep2 - 650 (Q46, V34) - April 25th, 2010
MGMAT2- 670 (Q47, V39) - May 2nd, 2010
Kaplan Paper based - 660 (Q46, V34) - May 19th, 2010
Platinum GMAT - 710 - 730 (Q 49-50, V36-38) - June 17th, 2010
Knewton 1 - 700 (Q49, V38) - June 18th, 2010
GMATPrep1 (Re) - 720 (Q49, V40) - June 19th, 2010
GMATPrep2 (Re) - 760 (Q50, V41) - June 21th, 2010

I was confident on quant and during verbal part, I was getting really large RCs and the CR passages were 5-6 lines. Moreover, I got 3 CRs on Evaluate the argument and I was quiet happy to see them, as those were large data based CR questions and many of the RC questions were themselves complete passages. I dont know what went wrong. One more thing, SCs were remote. I never seen such complicated SCs in my life.

Hey man
this is not your score for sure ..!!! you deserve much much better than this .. but anyways my request is to please re write the exam...take it as one bad day....take it on you stride..and move on ...you have been punched ..never mind ..punch back with all your strength ...and let it be your knockout blow on GMAT ...( SC)...

my best wishes to you ...and just in case you are feeling a little bad about this experience and it keps haunting you ..then please donot go into a shell...seek support from all of us ...I am sure we all will lift up your spirits ...cheers

god bless ...

best regards..

PS - pls do send a PM..or a general reply in case you feel tht I will be of any help ...

Hey, no matter what happens don't lose your confidence! I think you're at a fairly good level right now and with the right preparation you can definitely do MUCH better. Just find the best study plan from what people have suggested and from the other threads on the forums and I am sure you can improve :)

Its a small failure, if your confidence is shaking then you have probably chosen wrong career path. Try something else.

take my harsh words and get motivated again. Kill this exam with new energy and prove everyone your goal is not bogus.

Good luck and keep your spirits high.
