Hi all,
I gave my GMAT today and shocked by the score 620 (Q49, V26).
I didnt expect this
as I really performed well in my preparation. I refered:
Quant - GmatClub, Kaplan, OG12
Verbal - OG10, OG12, Kaplan, Manhattan SC, Powerscore CR Boble
GMATPrep1 - 620 (Q 48, V27) - April 4th 2010
MGMAT1 - 660 (Q45, V36) - April 20th, 2010
GMATPrep2 - 650 (Q46, V34) - April 25th, 2010
MGMAT2- 670 (Q47, V39) - May 2nd, 2010
Kaplan Paper based - 660 (Q46, V34) - May 19th, 2010
Platinum GMAT - 710 - 730 (Q 49-50, V36-38) - June 17th, 2010
Knewton 1 - 700 (Q49, V38) - June 18th, 2010
GMATPrep1 (Re) - 720 (Q49, V40) - June 19th, 2010
GMATPrep2 (Re) - 760 (Q50, V41) - June 21th, 2010
I was confident on quant and during verbal part, I was getting really large RCs and the CR passages were 5-6 lines. Moreover, I got 3 CRs on Evaluate the argument and I was quiet happy to see them, as those were large data based CR questions and many of the RC questions were themselves complete passages. I dont know what went wrong. One more thing, SCs were remote. I never seen such complicated SCs in my life.

You should definitely retake. Take some days off and start with verbal only.
The biggest problem for non native is passive reading, that might have cost you.

I personally don't think your actual score reflects how well you can do; I believe you can do better. How do you manage your stress level? Keep in mind that no matter how hard you try to imitate the real testing status/situation, nothing will be as real as the actual GMAT itself. If you have a hard time dealing with stress/time pressure, it may have caused the drop in verbal score. Your quant score is great, but you'll need to work on your verbal. You really need to tackle the OG again and make sure you understand what went wrong. Something must have happened and I think you're the only person who can make a judgment call that (i.e. were you simply just worn out during the real test before you got to the verbal section?)
