I took GMAT on Nov 28 and my overall score is 640. Verbal is my weak area and it contributed to my lower score 
Here is the split-up: Q-50, V-26. It is such a dis-proportional score and my total prep time is about 2 months.
I would like to convey my thanks to all the GMATClub forum members and Paul for enabling access to GMATClub challenge at the right time. Overall, GMATClub has contributed to my quant score.
The univ, I planned to apply required more than 50 percentile in Verbal to waive TOEFL. I am debating between whether to take up GMAT and concentrate on Verbal or take up TOEFL iBT. The main reason is TOEFL would be a new ball game and I need to prepare from scratch. On the other hand, I do not have much idea to crack the GMAT verbal.
I would appreciate any suggestion on this regard and any ideas to crack the verbal part.

yup verbal really killed you ....i would suggest that you should try again ..as you have such a good hold on Quant you can concentrate on verbal. I am sure you can score 700+. Find you weak areas in verbal and try to improve on those.....and write another sucess story of 700+ on this club.

This 640 has been a 'magic' number in the last 2 months!
Hey Sudhagar! I was wondering what happened to you. Didn't see you around much off-late. Anyway, that's a killer score in Quants! Keep it up! There was no doubt that you would do well in Math!
But I don't remember seeing you much around in the Verbal forum?! Participate more over there and definitely your verbal score will improve (if you take the test again!).
Anyways, 640 is a very competitive score. You may not need to take the test again and instead concentrate on essays, application and toefl.

) ..like duttsit, you now should have an even more intensive review of verbal parts ...you can definitely break 7XX range next time!!! ^_^ ...good lucks to your endeavor, buddy!!!
