Hi All,

After reading posts of pple scoring 720 and above, I feel even worse about myself now. I have been gunning for a top score of 700+ but didn't even come close. I prepared myself with KAPLAN courses and books but still received only an average score.

My target school is U of Chicago but I think they are going to take one look at my score and throw my application into the bin.

I don't think I will take the exam again because I've really done my best. I always thought that math was always strong for me but it was the section that let me down.

Pls recommend which resources I should use and what is "OG" that everyone talks about in this forum?

Pls advice if I should take the gmat again.

my cousin got into kellog and chicago with a score of 640!

go figure...it also depends on your profile....my cousin does have an impressive resume...he has done well for himself.....

OG is the Official Guide for the GMAT prepared by the Graduate Management Admission Council.

I personally think that the Math of Kaplan is tougher than the OG. So, Kaplan is good for Math. I don't know what advise to give. But if I were you, I would give taking admissions a shot. You never know it might work. After all, 650 is not a bad score. A few good letters of recommendations, should help you get in a good school.

Hey,

I'm i the same boat. I just took the test today and scored a 640...I just couldn't belive it! I studied so freaking hard I don't know what to do. BUT I know that I need a solid 700 to land a top b-school and plan to take it again in one month....It's time to do a SWOFT or whatever that's called and pick out your weaknesses and NEVER GIVE UP. I may add that I started from a dismal 490 back in december.....

its all achievable ! you people know the tricks...do the OG well - and give full length tests - as many as you can....

btw, its SWOT analysis - for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Strengths.

Congrats ChicagoGal,

650 is not a bad score, and like many others have said it's worth trying with that score. However with some more prep i'm sure you can also do better.
