marcodonzelli,

Although its not a bad score, but I was expecting something around 750 for you.

What time did you take the exam? How did your day start? Do you think these would have been factors?

I haven't been doing great in my CATs but I often see silly mistakes because of either nervousness or just simply AD.

hi marco

i think 660 will bring you into iese as it is close to the average of that school!

i ´ve been following your very usefull posts during the last weeks ... the thing i would be interested in is your verbal score at your practive tests? did you take any of them (gmat prep, 800score, etc)?

do think the gmatclub tests are a very good help for the math section?

thank very much for feedback!!!

cheers

Hey maverick! I do not know whether I deserved 750, but I can say my scores before the test were around 750!

I started my prep on the 1st of october 2007, after a 2day crash course with manhattan review and took the test on march, 20th. Though the math prep was not so bad, the verbal prep was completely insufficient. Anyway they gave me a good schedule which I followed with great attention.
I studied about 2 hours a day during week days and 8 hours a day during week-ends, for a total of 700 hours.

I believe that the test doesn't have a great level of difficulty so you are right when you say that the first thing to do is to get rid of silly mistakes. About stress...I advise that you study only when you are not tired otherwise you wouldn't be able to learn new concepts.

I am sure you'll get a great score anyway. for any suggestion, please ask me!

Hi, I saw gmat average score at iese and lbs: iese has a 660 and lbs 680. Maybe I an have some chances...actually I do not really have any time to study for the gmat any longer: my company would fire me! My committment during my prep time had to be very low and every minute I could I studied gmat.

Regarding my verbal prep: my gmatprep v scores were 31 (the first simlation in oct), 39, 38, 45,40,41. at some point I noticed that the verbal questions seemed to be always the same so I didn't take any more gmatprep. after then I took the 5 verbal gmat club tests. the last test I took was above 85%, so I thought to have a good prep, tough rc was hard for me anyway. I also used sc rc and cr 1000 and always had a good performance but rc.

As I said before, I think I have answered all sc and cr correctly and in very small time (lsat tests for cr and sc walker's sw are a great source of training) and failed one rc passage (8 questions).

Regarding gmatclub tests: in my opinion, they are the only source which can lead you to a great math score, with the gmat prep sw. do all of them and repeat questions where you have doubts. 47-51q is definetely yours, because the actual test is far easier than the tests.

Anyway, can someone advise me some excellent admission advisory service which get me into a good school even with a 660? thanks for everything.

man what happened? to be honest I always thought that you are in 700 club and I do think, I believe that this day was just not good choice and that's it. don't get frustrated because 660 is good point as well, I think you will get in INSEAD if you write good personal statement.

hi marco-

i was just wandering, can it be possible that the test-hosting company has somehow increased the difficulty level on the verbal part compared to the usual gmat simulations (gmatprep, etc)? for CR i am doing the LSAT 1000 questions - from your test experience, do you think the lsat cr are comparable to the gmat cr´s you got on your test?

what would be also interesting to know - how were the topics of your RCs (were to comparable to LSAT RC/ was it a lot of science?)

thanks for your feedback (i´m also non native speaker - i am from vienna/austria - and also kind of scared about the verbal part ... ) :-)

cheers

I believe that more people than before is well prepared for the verbal section, thus the chance to reach a great score diminish and also few mistakes can penalize the raw score.

I think cr and sc are comparable to those in 1000 series. lsat questions are a good source and I would use them instead of prep software such as 800 score. Lsat and gre read comprehension are a good source as well but what I saw in the actual test was very different from everything I did before.

let me know your decision!
