just wanted to thank everyone who participated in the forum. forum problems and explanations were very helpful in my prep.
Preparation
Kaplan Math Book, GMAT 2005, Verbal Book, and GMAT 800 (i personally think GMAT 800 questions were very similar to those on the real test or at least they were in the same category) 570-600
Princeton Math, Verbal and General Scores ranged from 670 to 690
Peterson GMAT CAT Success with CD (CD was about the same level as Princeton's was) Scores ranged from 640 to 690
I also looked at some problems in GMAT Plus.
Test
Quant part included some pretty interesting calculations (numbers like 5600, 2146). I did not really imagine life without a calculator before GMAT times, so arithmatics was and is a problem for me. i guess i would have done better if i had an ability to calculate things faster... There was a combinations problem (i hope i got it right...) and a prob question in data sufficiency part. Several of the questions were on coordinate geometry... slopes etc...
Verbal part had 4 reading passages. two of them were back to back which kind of took me by surprise... questions on the test were harder than i saw in any of the books. maybe i was just freaking out, but i thought Critical Reasoning and Sentence Structure questions were monsterous... Sentences were pretty long and complex. Reasoning had two BFs.
Overall I am surprised and thankful to God that i got this high of a score. I want to study on line, so most of the school i am applying to have average score that is lower than 660, so i hope i won't have too many problems getting in.
Thank you people!
