Hi, thanks for your reply.

I was concerned about time, no doubt. During my OG and Kaplan preparation, I never timed the questions so I could wait 2, 5, 10 minutes but get a question correct. So in the actual test I decided right from the start I would not let time run out, and I would not guess.

The worst part of it all is that right after finishing quant I felt I'd hit 45, and was confident. But now in hindsight I may have "skipped" a few DS questions without proper thinking due to time concerns.

Number properties are definitely a weak area, and as DS seems to take more of those than anything else, I guess it compounded the problem. My plan for the retake is:

1) Leave Verbal alone. Take the Gmat Club diagnostic test. Record results.
2) Go through all quant guides from Manhattan GMAT.
3) After doing each guide, take Gmat Club tests (three or four of them) in a TIMED way, and one Manhattan GMAT complete test.
4) After finishing all the guides and all the tests, take the remaining MGMAT tests.
5) Try the real test.

What do you think? Do you agree it was a mistake not to solve the OG and Kaplan tests in a timed way?

Thanks!
Daniel

Yes, timing is key. Continuous timed practice will help you get an idea of when it's best to move on from a question and just guess.

When are you planning on taking the exam again? Depending how much time you have, ALL the Quant Guides from MGMAT could be time consuming. I would definitely pick and choose the ones you need.

Each book in the MGMAT series does cover DS strategy if that's is all you really need to cover, I am in the same boat, DS is not my strong suit. I feel like if you reviewed even just a few of their strategies you would be well prepared the second time around, GL

I covered a lot of material for the first exam but apparently I skimmed over too much stuff based on my previous math knowledge. For the new attempt, I've decided to take the KNewton classes as I've decided (based on the data) that I do need to cover some content (number properties, inequalities) AND also test strategies, specially the damn Data Sufficiency, so let's see how that goes.
