Hi,
After preparing for GMAT for around 2-3 months I gave GMAT and got a disappointment. The score was 690 (Q51,V31). I was getting 710,720 in final GMAT mocks but unfortunately got nervous in the verbal section and ended up screwing the exam. The question for me is what to do next? I am certainly not interested in giving GMAT again as I feel i had reached my maxima for preparations and scared to face the verbal exam again.
I want to get into top 20 Bschools. My Profile:
Startup Founder (1 year) - Started a venture and worked on it for around a year. Made good traction, but unfortunately couldn't scale.
Indian Ecomm Experience (2.5 years) - Worked at India's largest ecomm player. Performance was good (got promoted twice in 1 and half years)
Education: IIT Kanpur( India's leading engineering institute) with GPA of (7.9/10) (3.2/4). Masters in Mathematics (non engineer). CFA level 2 candidate.
Extracurricular : Sports enthusiast (represented District, Corporate ) at various levels. Active Dramatics member(school, college). leadership role( senate member, team leader etc.). Debate enthusiast.
I am interested in pursuing my career in Product management domain. Is my profile good enough to get an admit at top 20 schools?..What are chances for getting at ISB, India?
Would really appreciate if someone can help here.
Thanks,
A 690 is pretty good, and with an IIT degree might get you into some good schools, but basically sicne you won't be applying till next year anyhow, you should really really be taking the GMAT again. Bascially, the better your GMAT, the better your school list! Very simple
Have a look at this article too. It's about Indian candidates and the GMAT:
