What schools are you looking at ? How competitive is a 690? I take the test in about a week and just wanted to know a safe score. Ofcourse, there is more more in an application but just wanted to get an idea. Thanks!

Congratulations on a great score and a significant improvement!

A 690 is a very competitive score. It's inside the middle 80% of any top-20 program. Plus, Snayt hit the 80/80 split so that's an added bonus.

Congratulations! I would second the reading emphasis, especially try and read things that are more difficult to undrstand, such as the Wall Street Journal Opinion pages and other op-eds from well know American newspapers.

Congrats, Snayt, and best of luck in your apps!
I see you have very impressive jump in Verbal. How long did it take you to get from 25 to 38?

That's a really nice jump - congratulations. I think you're completely right, reading is the best way to get better at the verbal.

You need to make sure you're reading non-fiction though, fiction might have grammatical errors to portray a certain tone.
