The title says it all.
I just took the GMAT for the first time today. To retake or not?
Problem is, in all my prep tests that I've done (
MGMAT & GMAT Prep) I've never scored higher than 620 on
MGMAT and 640 on GMAT Prep.
So I'm not too confident I'll be able to get 690 again if I retake.
Now I already know most people are going to say "it is still unclear how schools look at IR scores". I understand that.
I'm just wondering are there folks who's also gotten equally bad IR scores and still ended up getting admitted? That's the whole point of this test anyway right?
Also wondering, my undergrad GPA is low - 2.86. Yes I fooled around and, at the time, never thought I'd be needing an MBA anyway so a pass was a pass. Nothing I can do about that now. I did end up getting a pretty good job working as a Commercial Account Manager at a large Canadian bank and handled, by myself, a multi-million dollar loans and investment portfolio for 3 years before switching to retail banking as an assistant branch manager with 7 direct reports for another 2 years.
Overall based on my profile, are top tier schools out of reach and not even worth applying for? I'm 28 right now if that matters. Just want some opinions. Thanks
