Hello everyone,
just finished writing the GMAT and I'm glad to say that I got a 710 !! (49 Q, 38 V).
I've been studying for the past 4-5 weeks from GMATCLub forums and some older edition of M GMAT books.
I have a background in comp eng so math was not really a big deal. I studied mostly verbal since English is my 2nd language.
Test day - arrived 30 mins earlier, entered. processed my id, put my stuff in the locker, got in.
Finished AWA in about 25 mins. Reviewed it until the end.
Screwed up and missed the last question on IR.I was trying to find the answer and the timer expired...brain fart. ( I got a score of 6 on this)
Decided not to take a break and went on with math. Went by slowly at the beginning but I ended up with about 15 questions left in 20 mins. Not sure why I took so long..in practice exams I usually finished before the 75 minutes ran out. Anyway i guessed a few questions and guestimated a few others and I was done.
Took a 5min break and had some water + toilet.
Started the verbal which took me about an hour. Nothing worth mentioning... i got 4 RC segments and SC and RC about 50%-50% of the rest.
Clicked next expecting to get something in the 600s. Hoping for a 650ish..
Result: 710.
COnclusion: dont rush to decisions and dont conclude that you are doing poorly. Until you see the results you won't know. Dont panic thinking it's going badly.. just focus on you can always climb back up from a bad sequence of answers. And remember the score is the max score you reach..it's not an average of the entire session.
Cheers and good luck everyone !
UPDATE: Got a 6 on 6 on AWA. All I reviewed for this:
