Hi - Though this is my first post here, I have been following the forum since 2-3 months when I started preparing for the exam.
So I gave my GMAT 2 days back and scored a 710(92%) with the break up of QA - 50(88%), VA - 35(76%). The terrible thing my IR score is a mere 4
(scored a 8 in GMATPrep)
A little about my background -
Male Indian Engineer(from a top 10 Indian Engineering college), top 10% of the class, first division with distinction(should translate to >3.5 GPA), will have 3 years of work-ex(working in technology division of a major Investment Bank
) at the time of joining B-School.
I am targeting colleges ranked 7-15 (Darden, Duke, Johnson, Tuck, Stern) and plan to major in Consulting, can someone please opine about my chances at the mentioned colleges? Will a low IR score play a spoil-sport? Should I consider a re-take?

For the B schools you have mentioned 710, Indian IT Male simply would not cut it. Just google on linkedIn and you will see that Indian males who are being accepted have GMATs of 740-750. Schools in the range of 15- 35 you have a decent chance, the probability of your acceptance roughly the same because schools in the range of 15-20 would not offer scholarship/ have larger class sizes and schools in the range of 20-40 have Indian applicants with 700 applying for scholarship.
With 760 you will get admits from 7-15 and scholarships from the rest.

Thanks for the reply. I agree with your point on Indian + IT + Engineer + Male.
I am readying myself to re-appear for the GMAT and shoot for at least 740. I think I can achieve the same if I can increase my verbal by at least 3 points to 38+.
Can you suggest some material for improving SC's?
