I have had a couple of days to reflect on my GMAT experience. I don't think I have too much too offer by way of debrief. On some level, I am happy with a 720. But I am very disappointed with my quant score.
On the whole, the real GMAT was extremely similar to GMATPrep and the Official Guide. I have very little advice to offer on the quant section, as clearly this is not my forté! For verbal, stick to official material. Seriously, the quality of verbal material that does the rounds is sub-par. You are doing yourself a disservice by using any of it. Stick to the OG, collations from GMATPrep and LSAT material. You need to become attuned to the GMAT style of verbal - unofficial resources at best do not have this style, and at worst, are just ambiguous and confusing.
I have decided that I will be retaking the GMAT. I feel like Q49 V45+ is attainable. I think my poor quant performance was a combination of nerves, a run of bad questions, and spanning my study out over way too long a time period (due to work).
I'm still formulating my resit strategy, but I think I'm going to revist the OG, complete more
GMATClub tests, and also go the questions on offer from gmatboost.com. It looks like a pretty good resource devoted to increasing quant scores, and at $10 is pretty cheap.
Hopefully I can resit sometime soon, but it's likely the earliest will be in January. I will be gunning for a Q49+ as I think I am definitely capable of this.
