720 (Q45, V44, IR7): Is this Unbalanced score an issue?

The title says it all! Is this score an issue for T10 programs? Specifically, is the low quant score a red flag? I have a Finance undergraduate background and investment banking experience. Do these two items help supplement the low quant score?

Would love everyone's feedback on this one.

A: The overall score is solid so you are set there. That said, this low quant score may be a slight, slight issue for Harvard, Stanford, Wharton.

Q: Specifically, is the low quant score a red flag?
A: It is not an outright red flag. You should get consideration assuming all other components are strong.

Q: I have a Finance undergraduate background and investment banking experience. Do these two items help supplement the low quant score?
A: Yes, they will help but not entirely compensate for the score. They will not have doubts about your ability to perform in the academic setting, but someone with a higher score - all other things equal - will obviously be favored for consideration.

Follow-up questions for you: why did you score as "low" as you did on the Quant portion given your "technical" background? When are you applying for admission? Would you consider retaking the exam if you are applying starting in the Fall of 2021?

Thanks for your response! I am actually a college senior at the moment and plan on applying to Booth and Kellogg's deferred admissions programs. Obviously, I plan on keeping my score and using it for FT admissions in 3-4 years' time.

I will be starting my career in investment banking so I wanted to get a GMAT score locked in for future use. Unfortunately, due to other commitments, I do not have any more time to take the GMAT again. As a follow-up question, I also have a 700 with a Q47 score - would submitting both scores do me any good? Will AdComs take a glance at the Q47 or only the highest score? Also, is there an email address I can reach out to in order to potentially set up a more formal consultation?

OCSC1290 : I totally understand. It was smart to take the exam before starting you start as an i-banking analyst. You can definitely submit the 700 score to show your higher quant "ceiling." I have advised this to people in the past with success, but you want to designate the 720 as your official test. At the end of the day, the combined score matters way more than the individual components assuming they aren't out of whack, which thankfully is not the case for you. Thank you! That's very helpful. As far as my overall score of 720 should I feel comfortable applying to those T10 programs? It's slightly below the averages, so I'm a little concerned. Hoping my GPA (3.9 Top-50 US school) helps... Do programs weight that decently?
