Srry for the late debrief....
It was 3 months ago when i decided to give gmat..and for around half a month i surfed the net and gathered as much information as i could..it was then i come to know about Gmat Club..i downloaded Gmatprep from mba.com and gave my first prep test and score 620 (q49 v28)..i realized that my biggest was verbal but still there is some scope of improvement in quant.then i decided to work hard to cross 700 mark...

SC
I always believed that SC is the most important part of gmat verbal because if you are good at it then can save a lot of time from SC and focus on RC and CR..For SC i downloaded the Manhattan SC, believe me it is the bible for SC..I first read the whole book and then practiced a lot of questions..The key here is practice...Coming from a non-english speaking country i always had a lot problem in verbal. But i practiced a lot. Most importantly i used GMAT CLUB for practice..question on this site are great and people here are excellent..I almost read all the questions on the SC forum..I also read a few pages of
Powerscore SC BIBLE but didnt found it of much use..Rest to excel in SC practice is the key..
CR
This is another important part on the Gmat..For CR i used
Powerscore CR BIBLE and found the book quite usefull..After reading the book i practiced a lot of questions on the forum which helped me a lot to improve..I also used the LSAT CR questions but found then difficult and not like gmat..
RC
This was my biggest weakness on the Gmat..I tried a lot of different strategies for RC but the strategy which worked best for me was to take notes while reading the RC..The notes which i made while doing the RC were not that useful, but helped me to concentrate on the RC and also to retain certain information..I used to find RC very boring and was not able to concentrate but notes helped me a lot...For RC i mostly used
OG 12/10..
Quant Section
I was always better at quant as compared to verbal..But still some amount of improvement. In quant most important part is DS..It can be learned only through practice..It is 1 thing you cannot learn overnight...I did the
OG but found that the questions were quite easy and only 600+ level..Then i tried questions on the Gmat Club maths forum and found the questions quite challenging and very gmat 700+ level type..
Practice Test
Gmat Prer1 620 (q49 v28) Without preperation..
Kaplan CD test 580 (q50 v 28) They have very strange scoring pattern..DONT take there score literally only gud for practice...
Princeton online test 1 670 (q51 v 32) Quant is not gmat like..its very easy..Verbal also not that good but good for practice..
Powerprep 1 760 (q51 v42) Again quant is very easy..Most of the verbal questions are
OG repeats thats why so much inflated score...
Gmatprep 1 repeat 700 (q50 v34)
Powerprep 2 760 (q51 v43) Again many repeats from
OG...
Manhattan free online test (5 days before my exam) 730 (q50 v39) Quant is very challenging but excellent for practice..Verbal some questions in CR had vague explanation..Still it is one the best exams available for Gmat..
Gmatprep 2 (1 day before my exam) 740 (q51 v38).. Was really motivated to cross 700 mark in my final exam..Few repeats in both quant and verbal...
Actual GMAt 720 (q50 v 36)
As you guys can see i scored consistently around 720 in my practice test..I believe that Gmatprep tests are the closest to the actual gmat followed by Manhattan tests...
Finally, i want to thank some people on this forum who were my inspirations...BB, Walker, Brunel, Bigoyal...YOu guys rock.Keep up the good work...
