The only conclusion I can come up with is that the first 10 questions really matter that much and I was maybe too carefree with them? I know we'll probably never find the answer to what happened, but thank you for your response anyways Rich.

The first 10 questions matter more than do any other group of 10 questions on the test, for sure. There is still great debate on this issue, especially because the GMAC tries its best to deny this fact. However, in my opinion it's not a myth: the results I've seen from the ESRs suggest that you have to get at least 70% of the first 9-10 counted questions correct (thus earning a higher difficulty level of questions) if you want a chance at an elite score.

It could be that you just got a bit unlucky/nervous/etc. on the first 9-10 questions of each section, and/or that you got plenty of experimental questions right, which of course doesn't help your score at all. There's no way to know which ones they are, but almost 25% of the questions on the GMAT are experimental.

If you post your ESR (Enhanced Score Report), then we could be of even more help in analyzing what went wrong. Don't give up!

Hey! Dont be disheartened at all! I think the CLICKING habit might have got you. I dropped from a 700 to a 570... both on real gmat tests! As mentioned above the experimental questions could have been your undoing... I know so many who made it from 570 to 750 in a month just by tweaking their approach a little. It could even be a case of going past your peak... perhaps u just need to let the brain chill for sometime...
Well as Rocky said... you're never gonna hit harder than life.. what matters is that you just get back up and keep swingin!!

As in you got 700 on the CAT and 570 on real GMAT? Or 700 to 570 on real GMATs after taking it two times? Either way, I'm sorry to hear that.
