I've never been a part of any discussion on this great forum. Its the insights, jokes and words of inspiration from all the people here that helped me get what I got.
Here's a few words about how it all unfolded on G-day. I walked in to be told by Mr. Front Desk that my name was not the list of test takers for that day. Wow,what a start!. It later turned out(a seemingly unending 300 seconds) that the printer had spat out an incomplete list.
The essay sections were smooth sailing. I then made full use of the first of the little breathers. Q began easy, but I could then see the curve steepen gradually. But then the last dozen or so questions were plainly perplexing. The dip in the difficulty level seemed a little too obvious. Q seemed a lost cause. Thoughts of a 40-45 range seemed impossible to dismiss.
The next 75 minutes was a read-read-think-stare(?)-click-think-stare-click-to-confirm mindbendathon(that's got a be an accepted word!).
Sentence correction seemed fantastic, CR was testing and SC couldn't 've been better. I didn't have to go back to the passages. But in the midst of all this I was doing a poor job of watching the clock. 10 in 10 minutes was how the wire turned out and I couldn't answer the last question. Fury at self couched in dejection would be a fairly decent decription. The mouse pointer tugged in the direction of the "Do not score Test" button.
A dozen seemingly inconsequential questions ranging from "program applying to" to "background" later appeared what was surely an apparition. Q:49(90% ile), V: 41(93%ile)(no way in hell), Total: 730. Even torn down the freeway at a 90mph with yer windows rolled down with heavy metal guitars at max vol? Try it right after a 730!
Overall, after sanity had returned, I realized Quant was a tad disappointing. I was expecting to top 50, what with a dozen Challenges that I thought had hardened me. Absolutely no complaints about V.
And for what its worth, the road to G-day was laid with:
Kaplan(590, 590, 560, 600), Princeton(710, the software sucked, the software sucked) and those Challenges( ranging from a humbling 63 to an encouraging 95).
Thank you all ever so much once again. Here's hoping to see atleast some of you at a B-school of OUR choice!
