I took the gmat on 17th October. I had scored higher on my GMATPrep tests, exam pack 1 & 2 (760-780) , so the score was a tiny bit disappointing, but from applications perspective it should not harm me much, so I'm happy to be done with it
The only thing I had messed up on the day of the exam was that I'd become too nervous and anxious. I'd suggest anyone taking the exam to be as relaxed as possible on the exam day.
I would like to thank the GmatClub community for helping me so much throughout my prep journey.
Bunuel is simply awesome. When you see enough of his solutions you begin to somewhat think along those lines. I always scored 50-51 in GmatPrep (though i messed up in the real test
), and a lot of the credit for that (good scores
) goes to bunuel. For quants, I depended mostly on
GmatClub tests. They're really good.
For verbal, I used
egmat - verbal online course. I made my own notes out of their videos and reviewed them as necessary. The biggest value in their course is that they have good quality questions for practice in scholaranium.
For IR - I did not do much separately for this section. I took many full length tests - that was all the practice I'd done for IR.
AWA - I just followed my template. One important point here is that the number of words seems to matter. So it's preferable to keep the word count above 500. My template had a fixed introduction and conclusion. I spotted the flaws and elaborated. Usually 3 flaws, each in one para, are sufficient to pull the word count to above 500.
Some other key takeaways-
1) Take as many full-length tests in exam-like conditions as possible. I had taken more than 10.
2)Practice is the key - But smart practice is important. While analyzing a mistake it is important to figure out the cause of the mistake as well as how to prevent such mistake in future.
3)Timing is very important - Have a good timing strategy for all the sections - evolve the strategies through the practice exams.
4)Most importantly relax and have fun!
My best wishes to all the test takers! For any specific query, please feel free to ask. I'd gladly do my best to help.
Cheers!
