Hello Gmatclub,

On my online GMAT exam, I recently received a 710 (47Q, 40V). However, to get into my dream school, I probably need 750+ GMAT score. So I ask you all, did you have any unique tops, tricks, study tactics, exam strategies, etc. that you used to get from low 700 to high 700s?

Thank you
Hello, Jerrymaguire. I would say congratulations on earning a 710, but you sound displeased with the score. That is still an achievement, though, so do not take anything away from yourself. To progress to that next level, you will have to take the time to get to the bottom of what is causing you to take the wrong turns on each question type. Sometimes, even worrying about the clock too much can throw off your accuracy, and that can be the only difference between a 730 test-taker and a 770 test-taker with the same background knowledge. I would suggest some reading to see how others who have achieved the feat of earning a 99th-percentile score have done it. (There is, in fact, no silver bullet to earning such a score, but you will notice some patterns among high-scoring test-takers.)

1) This debrief navigator post

2) Indexed debriefs among those who scored in the 99th percentile

Learn from what others have done before you—the resources they used, the methods, and so on. With persistence and focused practice, you can earn the score you want.

Good luck with your studies.

- Andrew
