I gave my GMAT today after about a month of serious preparation (6-8 hrs per week). I originally started about 3 months back but did not study consistently until the last month.
Materials I used for the test included:
- OG 11th edition
- GMAT prep software
- 800Score prep kit (5 exams + study material) - study material is good, but exam scoring is weird.
- Peterson - verbal section was tough & demoralizing, averaged 650 in these tests.
I found the actual exam to be easier than any of the practice tests I took. I was getting 730-740 in GMAT prep tests.
Another aspect I was apprehensive about was the erasable pads. I was concerned that it would be just one page pad which you have to keep erasing. However they give you an erasable notebook with about 10 pages in it. This was more than sufficient. You also get a 10 min break between sections.
Here are my practice test scores (the first set of numbers in each row in math).
10/15 1800scoreTest2 25/37 43 70 32/41 50 99 760

Now the hard part starts for me (appln, school etc). Wish you all the best!
