Dear All
This is my first post to the forum even though I have been a regular visitor to this website. I took my test on 12th December and scored a score of 770 on the exam. I have the following point sot share with you:
1. First of all, please make sure to register for the test before starting your preparation. Dont prepare unless you have a fized date in mind.
2. For sentence correction questions, I think SC-1000 is the best document to study from (apart from this forum). I got 2 questions straight out of SC1000. The first 5 questions on my test were all SC and my good preparation from SC1000 was a great help in tackiling those. Over all, I got almost 15-16 sentence correction questions so I cant over emphasize their importance in your preparation.
3. The best source for preparation for CR and RC is LSAT 10 more actual practice tests. CR comprises 50% of LSAT exam and the level of difficulty is also very good. As such, this book should sufficiently help you prepare for the exam. Even the LSAT RCs are all long- 65 lines. So tackling them can be a very good exercise.
4. Quant- The questions alternated between very simple and difficult on the actual exam. I have a feeling that the probability questions on the exam have started getting trickier but again nothing compared to what you all discuss on this forum. Over all, quant was a breeze- I finised some 15 minutes before the slotted time of 75 minutes (GUess that is the reason for my score of 50 as I honestly thought that a 51 score was there for the taking).
5. Writing- spend the last 4-5 days preparing for this section.
Overall, all you guys have your hearts in the right place. My only suggestion is that once you have decided to take the test, dont linger on. Simply book a date and get it done with. Caution- dont read too much into your performance on the Kaplan Practice Tests. They are way off the mark. GMAT prep by far was the best reflector of my actual scores. I scored 770 on both GMAT PREP-1 and Gmat Prep-2 and that is exactly what I ended up with on the real exam.
