Congratulation hetalcs, that's an awesome score.

Judging from your post, I believe you are already really good with Verbal in the beginning.

I'm struggling CR, any advice or material that you can suggest?

Thanks everyone!

Gautrang, I was reasonably good at CR...reading the guide book helped but doing lots of practice questions and reading the explanations helped the most. Initially I would read explanations for ALL CR questions, not just the ones I got wrong. Later I moved towards marking where I was unsure of an answer, and reading explanations for questions I got wrong as well as the ones I was unsure about. Over time you start recognizing the patterns. I would suggest you get a good CR guide book (either MGMAT or PowerScore).

Just finished my GMAT. Got a score of 780 - one I am very happy with.

4. AWA: As the test day came nearer, I got more nervous about the AWA section as there weren't any materials to prepare for it. I looked at the guide to AWA posted on this forum as well as on beatthegmat (sorry, guys), and sort of combined it to build my own template. I leaned more towards the one posted on this forum. I wrote about 6 essays as practice (three of each type) just to make sure I was comfortable writing a 500 word essay within the 30 mins time span and was comfortable with the structure. That was sufficient; I got a 6.0 on the actual test. I've realized you don't need to be that good to score well on the AWA. You just need to have good grammar, a structure for your essay, and some basic verbal/essay writing skills. So no need to freak out too much about AWA (as I did).

Congrats on your wonderful score.
However, In My Opinion there is something fishy about your debrief. You said you got a 6.0 on the actual test. Wonderful. But, I am left to wonder, how did you manage to get your score on the day of test itself?

I see your post has not been edited yet, as I write this, to include any details later on the AWA score. I would love to know how did you manage to get your official AWA score on the test day itself.

Till then, your debrief raises doubts over its genuineness.

ankitgarg20, when I said "just" I did not mean "today", I meant recently. I took the GMAT about a week ago. I fixed the words now. Even if that aspect was confusing, I can't believe the rest of my write-up about my experience does not seem genuine enough.

Great Score....you are one of the contributor who helped raising the 99 percentile from 750 to 760...or may be to 770 in future...just kidding.

Congrats and good luck ahead.

hetalcs,

Congratulations! That must be one of the highest scores that I have seen in recent times. You have crushed the GMAT.

Did you prepare any flashcards/notes during your preparation? It would be great if you could share those with the members at GMAT Club.
- Were the math questions on the real GMAT similar to those in the GMAT prep/OG? Any advice for us doing well on the math section apart going through OG guides?
