Re: 8x+4y+5z=3 x,y,z are positive numbers what is x? (1)4y is an [#permalink]
(A) & (B) are insuff

4y can be any integer such as 1, 2, 3 etc
5z can be any integer such as 1, 2, 3, 5 etc

8x+4y+5z =3

4y = 2
5z = 1
x=0

But 0 is neither negative nor positive so this is not acceptable value of x.

the only other possibility is :
4y=1
5z=1
x=1/8
