Imo option D
30ft is longer than 20 ft by 50%
Let a be the smaller portion then
3a/2 + a = 50
a = 20
Longer part = 3a/2 = 30ft

Asked: How many feet long is the longer piece?
Let the length of the shorter piece be x feet.
The length of the longer piece = 1.5x
x + 1.5x = 50
x = 20
The length of the longer piece = 1.5x = 30
